Breeding
On the Leestensch Hof we breed Haflingers and Friesian.
Haflinger mares:
Lady van de Engelberts weg (Angelo x Waro v.d. Haflingerhoeve)
Lady was born in 1994 and has served our stables as breeding mare for the last 12 years. She gave birth to 11 fillies, of which 9 were mare foals. Her children were crowned as champions on several shows. She stepped into the champions ring several times.
Her IBOP (ability test) results allow her to carry the title “sports mare”.Lady does her work on our “care farm” on a daily basis. This year she brought her first “Whetu foal”.and she is pregnant from Liz 374 Whetu again.
Carmen van Brokert (Cappa x Stroganow):
Carmen is daugther of “star mare” Cappa (1996) and bred by Wim Grevers in Winterswijk (NL). Her father is Stroganov. Carmen won the champions title in the province of Gelderland
was elected honorary champion twice; in Noord-Holland - Utrecht she managed to win the champions title again as 11 year old. Carmen’s of spring were succesfull in many shows as well.

Carmen is expecting her second Whetu foal.
Tertia van 't Broek (Tosca x Hofnarr van 't Broek):
This elderly lady won the title “best three year old” 19 years ago on the National show in Den Bosch. She was succesfull as a breeding mare, most definitively with her daughter Tellina van 't Broek (Allacher, owner Beks family), who won the Elite show in 2006.
Tertia, favourite of most children on our “care farm” gave birth to a beautifull Whetu mare foal.
Jodis:
Jodis was imported from Tyrol in 2004. She is a Alpenstein daughter of Junella, mother of the famous Tyrolean stallions Standschuetz and Nordtirol. Jodis’breeder is Karl Pattschneider, from Ried in Oberinntal, Tyrol.
Jodis is pregnant with Whetu.

Haflinger foals 2009:
The First Whetu foals are trotting through the meadows. Two of our own mares are still pregnant, but around 20 foals are already born. The Whetu foals look alike a lot. They have long legs, long necks and beautifull, friendly heads. We are proud to show a few pictures of fillies from our own and other mares.

Young Friesian mares:Anna van 't Leeuwenhof (Loret (Marko) x Folkert 353
Anna is a nine years old star mare. She is a friendly mare, however also a mare with energy. Although Anna’s foals have been beautifull, breeding with her hasn’t been to prosperous. Of her five colts, two died, including her foal by Gjalt of last year.
However, this year Anna gave birth to a Harmen foal and she is a mare! Anna is pregnant with Harmen again.Sjuke fan Bartlehiem: ( Ankje fân Bartlehiem (Oege) x Anne 304)
Sjuke is a 12-years old star mare with vol papier” (three generations star mares in a row).Also breeding with Sjuke started in a very with a liveless foal; in the three following years however we had three mare foals by Arjen (twice) and Gjalt. Sjuke expects a foal by Tsjalke in July

Friesian geldings:
Obbe (Anna van 't Leeuwenhof x Wikke 404). Obbe was Anna’s first foal. From his birth on small, but still a real Friesian horse. Obbe works at our “care farm”, where he, being just a four year old, steps and trots around with young children on his back, stabile as he’d be at the end of a life long career as instruction horse.
Sytse fan it Leestensch Hof (Anna fan it Leeuwenhof x Leffert 306P).
Sytse is no longer in our possession, but still “rents”a stable at our stud. He passed the first hurdle at the 2007-2008 stallion selection, but got really frightened entering the “cage”, resulting in low figures for gallop and trot. Systse however is a lovely horse with a very soft character.

Wietse fan it Leestensch Hof (born 2007, Anna van 't Leeuwenhof x Ulbert 390).
Wietse is a 2 year old stallion who grows Of the same combination we’d love to have another foal, but Ulbert left for the United States. At his new home, the Iron Springfarm in Pennsylvania, we visited him October 2007.
Foals 2009
On March 8th 2009, Dieuwke fan it Leestensch Hof was born.
She is a mare with class and we are very happy that Anna finally has her first female descendant.
