Show results 2009

On the central show in Hoofddorp our horses performed well. Though the 2008 results were not met (foal, youth and day champion), a number of 1a and 1b positions were claimed.

Most exiting were of course the results of the first year of Whetu’s offspring. And we have reasons to be proud on that.

In the provinces of Drenthe and Noord-Holland – Utrecht Whetu foals were presented; all mare foals were rewarded with a first pemium. In both shows, the foal champion was a Whetu daughter.

In the province of Friesland, Maeije van de Ooste, bred by the Ludema family, was absent. Later however last summer, she showed her quality in the Zevenhuizen Haflinger show, were she was vice champion after Argument van de Honesch, bred by Jeroen Slot.

Tiroler breeders visiting

Last summer Hermann Gruber with his family visited our stables. Hermann from Kolsaßberg in Tirol, bred several elite mares as well as registered breeding stallions

Leestensch hof gelding on KVTH magazine!

The Metternich Family sent a photo of their gelding Winnetou and it was chosen as cover photo. It is of course very nice to see Winnetou (out of our mare Liesl, sire Wolkenstein-B, received 76 points at registration) back in his full glory. And even nicer to hear that he is still doing great as saddle and driving horse!

June 2009 - Whetu foals!

They are there! On the page “breeding” we show pictures!

Augustus 2008, Central Show province of Gelderland in Vragender

In Gelderland 35! Foals came to the central show in Vragender, among them 1 Nordsee daugther, Carinda van Brokert. And who made it foal champion?..: Carinda!
Her moeder, Cappa, is of excelent class, but also Nordsee can be proud.
This year five of his foals came to central shows: two made it champion and one vice champion.
(the two “non champions” are both colts).

Augustus 2008, Two Nordsee children to Elite show.

Came van 't Leestensch Hof and Nobility (first gelding ever to take part in the Elite-show) are invited to Maren-Kessel.
Two might not be much, but taken the number of foals by Nordsee in 2005 (19 in the Netherlands) into account, it is an impressive result.
Maybe even more important, till now the following Nordsee children were registered:: Camee (78 points), Nobility (78 points), Lente (76 points), Rosalie van Seadrift (75,5 points), Missy van de Doeze Hoeve (75 points); not a bad average!

19 juli 2008, Succes on the cenral show Noord-Holland / Utrecht at hoofddorp!

With  two trailers and a truck full of horses we left for Hoofddorp. The rain was pooring down, but fortunately the organization took the given opportunity to orgqanize the show in the indoor arena.

We counted on a few first places, but never on the success we finally had:

First place in the class early born mare foals and foal champion: Lynn van \'t Leestensch Hof (Lady van de Engelbertsweg x Nordsee)

  • First place in the class late born mare foals and vice champion: Cosette van \'t Leestensch Hof (Carmen van Brokert x Nordsee)
  • First in the class early born yearling mares: Loret van \'t Leestensch Hof (Lady van de Engelbertsweg x Nordsee)
  • First in the class two-year old mares and youth champion:Saliera (Smaragda x Novembernebel)
  • First in the class 3-year old mares and selected for the Elite show: Camee van \'t Leestensch Hof (Cindy-Clara x Nordsee)
  • Second in the class three year old mares (76 points): Lente van \'t Leestensch Hof (Lady van de Engelbertsweg x Nordsee)
  • First in the class four year old mares and day champion (75,5 points: Jodis (Junella x Alpenstein)
  • Second in the class mares 10 years and older: Lady van de Engelbertsweg (Carine van de Weideweg x Angelo)
  • First in the class mares with descendants: Lady with Lynn, Loret en Lente.
  • First M1 dressage (209 punten) and dressage champion: Marleen Smeltink with Liesl
  • Third place saddle classl: Marleen Smeltink with Liesl

Nordsee was brought out by Marleen in the L1 dressage (193 points) and in the  saddle class  (sxth place), but above all he was the moral winner of the show. Nordsee is the father of the champion foal, vice champion foal, best “older yearling mare”, first and second three year old mare, and father of all three  of Lady’s daughters winning the class mares with descendants. Nordsee foals won the foal champion title at the show three times in a row, and c\vice champion foal two times in a row. The average note at the registered Nordsee children for for movement is above 8. Something we see in our fields from day to day: Nordsee children are strong movers!

5 and 6 july 2008, Europaschau Ettelbrueck, Luxemburg

On 5 and 6 july in Ettelbrueck, Tyrol, the 5th International Europaschau is held.
We are present with Whetu and Nordsee. The event ios organized by the two Luxemburgian Haflingerstudbooks and the World Haflinger Assosiation.

Eastermonday 2008.

Despite the SNOW STORMS we held our stallion show in the presence of a large audience. Lady, as always had her foal in time, Marleen showed Nordsee, we had a show with 4 Haflingers and dressage on high level.
A show with Obbe, our Frisian gelding and mini Shetland pony Richard, both under saddle was very much appreciated.
Unfortunately Whetu had a light injury, so that he could not present him self in the best way

2 Februari 2008.

Whetu to Leestensch Hof. For many a small (or large) surprise!
A very modern Wegbereiter son from the famous Montreaux mare line bred by Werner Beck.
